MB Hotel sits at 6525 Collins Avenue, in mid-Miami Beach — not South Beach, and we would rather say so than let you find out at check-in. The distinction matters in both directions. Mid-Beach is the residential stretch of the barrier island: low buildings, sea grape hedges, cafés that know their regulars, and a beach that is busy without ever being a scrum. Mornings here belong to joggers and dog walkers, and the sand is reached on foot from the front door rather than after a hunt for parking.

What you give up is the ability to walk out of the lobby into Ocean Drive's neon. What you get back is sleep, a shorter queue for everything, and a rate that reflects the address rather than the postcode's reputation. South Beach is a twelve to fifteen minute drive when you want it, and most guests find that a night out down there is better as a visit than as a permanent condition.

The building itself is small enough that the front desk learns your name in a day. Guests come back for the balconies — the oceanfront rooms open onto the Atlantic, and the sound of it at 6am is the reason people book the same room twice.
