MB Hotel sits on the ocean side of Collins Avenue in north Miami Beach, in the MIMO district — the mid-century Miami Modern architecture that runs along this stretch. It is a residential, low-key part of the island, which is exactly why the beach in front of it is quiet on a Saturday.
Everything the city is known for is still on the same barrier island. South Beach and the Art Deco District are a short drive south; Bal Harbour and Surfside are a few minutes north; Wynwood and Little Havana are over the causeway on the mainland.
The practical version: you can spend a whole day without leaving the sand, or you can be standing on Ocean Drive in about fifteen minutes. Most guests do some of both.

You do not queue for the sand
The beach in front of this stretch of Collins is public, wide and rarely crowded compared with Lummus Park. Chairs and umbrella come with the resort fee, so a beach day takes no planning at all.
Everything else is a short ride
The island is long and narrow, and Collins runs the length of it. South Beach, Bal Harbour and the causeways to the mainland are all straightforward drives from the door.
You come back to somewhere quiet
Days out in South Beach are better when the evening is not also South Beach. The pool deck and the rooftop are the part of the day people remember.

One Day
A day, roughly.
Morning
Crepes and coffee at Caffe Frappe downstairs — it opens at eight — then straight down to the sand. Beach chairs and umbrella are included in the resort fee, so the first few hours cost nothing extra.
Midday
Drive or ride south into the Art Deco District and walk Ocean Drive and Española Way while the light is hard — the pastel facades photograph better before the afternoon haze.
Afternoon
Lincoln Road for shopping and shade, or north to Bal Harbour if you would rather browse than crowd. Both are short drives from the property.
Evening
Back on Collins for dinner in the neighbourhood — Sazon Cuban Cuisine or Fifi's Seafood — or Kalypso's terrace if the day has been long enough. Then the pool deck, once the monogram wall lights up.
