Art Basel Miami Beach

Twelve minutes from the fair. A long way from the queue.

Art Basel takes over the Convention Center and, for one week, the blocks around it. MB Hotel sits about 4.4 miles north — near enough for a full fair day, far enough to end it.

Location

Where you sleep during fair week.

Art Basel Miami Beach runs out of the Miami Beach Convention Center at 1901 Convention Center Drive, with satellite fairs scattered across South Beach, the Design District and Wynwood. The week is a logistics problem disguised as an art fair: everything happens at once, in three neighbourhoods, and the hotels closest to the venue price and fill first.

MB Hotel is about 4.4 miles north on Collins Avenue — roughly 12 to 15 minutes by car or rideshare to the Convention Center door. That is a shorter door-to-door than many delegates staying in South Beach manage on foot through fair-week crowds, and it puts a clean four miles between your room and the noise.

The mainland fairs work in your favour too. Wynwood and the Design District are reached over the causeways rather than through South Beach traffic, so the crosstown runs are not fighting the same congestion.

For the broader convention-week case, the Convention Center page covers rates, shuttle traffic and the walk-versus-ride maths in more detail.

Why MB Hotel

Why fair-week regulars stay north.

The week ends when you leave the venue

Four miles is enough that the fair does not follow you home. The block here is residential; the loudest thing after midnight is the surf.

Rooms that work as an office

RM1 and NK-series rooms have a proper desk and seating, which matters when the evening is spent writing up viewings rather than at another opening. [VERIFY]

Rideshares run all night on Collins

Collins Avenue is a single straight route between here and the Convention Center, so the last ride back is never a planning exercise. [VERIFY]

One address for a whole party

Galleries, collectors and crews travelling together can be blocked into the same building rather than scattered across South Beach. Group terms [VERIFY].
